The question is not whether it is safe for people with HIV to have sex without a condom. The real question is whether it is safe for people who DON’T have HIV to have sex without a condom. Most people who are uninfected can choose to stay that way by ensuring that they protect themselves, a point that the Swiss researcher made.
Their paper was eminently sensible in many ways. It’s time we started treating people like adults, able to make decisions about the risks they choose to take.
